Album Review

This two-disc collection focuses on traditional folk music. The songs are the stars here, but the performances shine as well. Most feature the simple style of people who play for the love of it, but sprinkled throughout is an unusually lively fiddle or whistle, and more than one bell-clear voice. A wide variety of artists are featured performing traditional songs, as well as more modern works in the traditional style. A fine collection for folk fans, especially for devotees of the folk styles of the British Isles, this collection is solid throughout.
