Album Review

Part of King's Country Hall of Fame series, this brings together 12 tracks from this artist's heyday at the label. Although the booklet is nonexistent, there's a nice bio on Tillman on the tray card, and the transfers are decent, featuring biggies like "I Love You So Much It Hurts," "Drivin' Nails in My Coffin," and "Empty Glass." This is real honky tonk, circa the late '40s, and these tracks capture a sound that left country decades ago.
