Nando Reis is a member of Os Titãs, a highly successful group. In his solo album from 1995, he is coherent with the group's straightforward pop sound, but he has a stronger Brazilian background. All songs were written by him, sometimes with partners. Hits worth mentioning include "Me Diga" and "E.C.T.," the Bahian groove of "Do Itaim Para o Candeal," the sambas "Para Querer" and "A Urca," and the gentle "A Menina e o Passarinho." The greatest asset of 12 De Janeiro is the interest in and capable performance of Brazilian music, as opposed to Titãs's approach.
