Album Review

Originally released in 1958, Sings His All-Time Greatest Hits is Moon Mullican's first album and, essentially, it is a greatest-hits collection, featuring 12 of his hit singles from the late '40s and '50s. Drawn entirely from his King Recordings, this collection contains the bulk of his signature songs -- including "I'll Sail My Ship Alone," "Cherokee Boogie," "Mona Lisa," "You Don't Have to Be a Baby to Cry," "Pipeliner's Blues," and "I Was Sorta Wondering" -- which means it's a fine introduction and retrospective. There is one slight problem: The compact disc reissue is a little cheaply packaged and contains slightly poor sound, but the music is good enough to make those flaws forgivable.
