About Stirling Faux

Stirling will celebrate 40 years in Canadian radio this November. Originally from Toronto he began his radio career in Sudbury while attending Laurentian University and then moved back to broadcasting in his hometown for a couple of years. Then after a stint in Quebec City, Stirling moved to Vancouver in 1974 and he's been here ever since - minus a 2-year assignment in Calgary.

Since arriving on the West Coast Stirling has been active in both radio & TV, hosting "Lotto Night in BC" for 9 years for the BC Lottery Corp. in the 80's & 90's. He's currently the host of "The Money and Wealth Show" on CHEK TV.

Stirling expanded his career into teaching with 5 years at BCIT while continuing to work on the radio around Vancouver. He was also Department head - Broadcast Performing Arts at Columbia Academy. Recalling those days fondly, Stirling says "Teaching was as much about learning on my part as it was for any of my students. I really enjoyed the experience."

Since joining AM650 last year and returning to music radio, Stirling has applied his energy and enthusiasm  weekend afternoons playing "All Time Favourites" and, as he puts it "..Basically reliving the soundtrack of my life every Saturday & Sunday..It's great fun and I particularly enjoy interacting with AM650 listeners who are never shy about picking up the phone or firing off an email...they keep me honest.."
