This impressive retrospective from Rhino of late-'60s/early-'70s art-rock duo Jon Mark and Johnny Almond is a treat for fusion-tinged jazz-rock fans. Formed after the two came off of a two-year stint with John Mayall, Mark-almond deftly threaded the progressive rock needle with their signature blend of smoky Latin beats, atmospheric improvisations, and late-night saxophone led club jams that managed to cradle the power of a high energy rock show while maintaining a high level of instrumental discipline and dense, melodic exploration. Read More
