Ben Vaughn - Dressed in Black

Vaughn's fourth effort features cameos by Alex Chilton, Marshall Crenshaw, John Hiatt and Gordon Gano. While the opening track, "Big Drum Sound," tis a jab at modern recording technology not unlike The Dead Milkmen's "Instant Club Hit (You'll Dance to Anything)," the remainder of the album fits snugly into Vaughn's usual retro style. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
