Review by James Christopher Monger
Castle's Very Best Of Bonnie Tyler succeeds where other anthologies have failed by providing fans with hits from both stages of the gravelly-voiced singer's career. Tyler's pre-Columbia collaborations with songwriters/producers Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolfe yielded a couple of classics including "It's a Heartache" and "Lost in France," but it's the overblown '80-'s classic "Total Eclipse of the Heart" that tilts most listener's compasses in her direction. That cut, along with "Holding Out for a Hero" and "Faster Than the Speed of Night" represent the best of her radio years, but dig deeper into his 18-track collection and you're liable to find a few new favorites. Read More
