Ann Peebles' debut, 1969's This Is Ann Peebles, was reissued on the same CD with a latter-day record, 1979's Handwriting Is On The Wall, by HI Records in 1995. Although each record has its share of weak spots, they remain infectious and enjoyable, with the former leaning toward gritty early-'70s soul and the latter toward funk and disco.
