Ike Turner brought his Kings Of Rhythm to Chicago in 1958 where they served as a house band of sorts for Cobra Records for a year, backing up artists like Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, and Betty Everett, as well as recording several raw and exciting tracks on their own. This collection from Japan's busy reissue label P-Vine pulls together the fruits of those sessions, and while the inclusion of several alternate takes of songs like "Match Box" and "(I Know) You Don't Love Me No More" gives the sequence a repetitive feel, there's no denying the edgy power of these tracks.
