Diana Ross & the Supremes - Greatest Hits, Vol. 3
Greatest Hits, Vol. 3, released in August 1967, was a double album, thus nominally constituting Volumes One and Two of The Supremes' hits, 1963-1967, and this 11-track album picked up the story, containing singles from 1967 to the end of 1969 (and the end of Diana Ross's tenure with the group). Their sound and approach changed during this period, as they moved from the slinky Holland-dozier-holland songs to the more psychedelic ("Reflections") and the grittier "Love Child" styles of the late '60s. But the hits kept coming, up until the ironic "Someday We'll Be Together," released just as they split apart. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
