The facts regarding performers or bands with this name could only be more confusing were they mumbled. Drowning Pool, an '80s outfit described quite vividly as "atmospheric college-goths with pop sensibilities," basically turned themselves into The Mumbles, creating an album entitled Two Clouds for the Viva label, a company that had previously released some of the Drowning Pool material. This is not the same Drowning Pool from Dallas that was swimming quite well with the heavy metal crowd until the lead singer dropped dead. In the case of the Drowning Pool turned Mumbles, listeners seem to agree that added singer Kelly Ray might have contributed more had she been dead at the time. Other Mumbles include rap and Memphis blues performers as well as a singer/songwriter duo from the U.K. ~ Eugene Chadbourne, All Music Guide
