Gerry O'Day hosts the AM 650 Breakfast Show weekday mornings from 6 am to 10 am.
10 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT GERRY O'DAY
1. I like to feed the squirrels at Central Park twice a week - cheap pets eh!
2. I won a radio contest the first day of Grade 9 - $289.00 from CKNW for the Are you listening question.
3. I am not really the son of radio legend Pat O'Day or the brother of Ellie O'Day, though we have worked together at two stations.
4. I have interviewed hundreds of bands including the act with the biggest CD of 2008: Metallica - that was 1988!
5. Favorite comfort food: Corn Chips...and hey, hold on...a diet Dr. Pepper.
6. I own a hair dryer, although it doesn't get used a lot these days.
7. Seriously, I tell young people to take a Dale Carnegie Course. It taught me empathy and made me a better person.
8. Sports. Thought I could be an Olympic swimmer back in 1972 - Swam across Whonnock Lake after watching the summer games, now it's only jacuzzis.
9. Weekday mornings, I wake up without the use of an alarm clock at 4:20...is this over yet?!
10. I celebrate 25 years on the air in the Vancouver Radio Market on October 31st. That's right, I first went on the air Halloween afternoon at 99.3 The Fox.
